About Us

Christ Church is a group of Jesus’ followers, serving God and our neighbors in Jackson County. You’re welcome to join us.

Who Are We?

As our name indicates, we are part of the church of Jesus Christ all over the world. The church is the new community that God is forming around Jesus Christ by the power of God’s Spirit. In a world in which many people are alienated, isolated, and lonely, in a society that is often fractured and divided, God is forming us into a community that draws near to God together but also serves, celebrates, feasts, and relaxes together — and a community that welcomes others in.

We’re glad to be included in God’s covenant, the bond of love, union, and communion that joins us to God’s family and involves us in God’s mission in the world. Our God is not only one but also three. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are bound together in love and fellowship, each seeking the glory of the others. Out of a sheer overflow of goodness, this Triune God, created the world and created us, not because he needed us but because he wanted us to share in this bond of fellowship and love and mutual service which we call “covenant.”

We’re committed to reformation, reshaping our lives according to God’s Word. We want to follow the pattern of Jesus Christ in our worship of God, our relationships with each other, and our service to the world.

And we’re located in Oregon. God didn’t place us in the world so that we could withdraw from the people around us, ignore our surroundings, and huddle together. Rather, he placed us in the world as a colony of heaven with the calling to advance the good news of His kingdom and of His Son into our surroundings as we proclaim Jesus Christ and serve those who need His peace and love.

What Do We Do?

What Do We Believe?

Christ Church is a Christian church. We affirm the essentials of the Christian faith, as outlined in the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed. Our Book of Confessions [link] includes many of the great Christian doctrinal statements with which we are in general agreement. Our pastor, elders, and deacons hold to the Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, and Canons of Dort as faithful summaries of the teaching of Scripture.

Who Are We Associated With?

We are affiliated with the Confederation of Reformed Evangelical Churches, but our fellowship is not limited to churches in that federation. It is our desire to serve God in harmony with all of Christ’s faithful churches in this region.

What Are Our Services Like?

We come together as a church in response to God’s call and in accord with God’s Word. The “service” that takes place when we assemble is not just our service (“worship”) of God. Rather, we understand that God serves us first so that we can serve him (and each other) in response. In our services, then, we follow the structure which characterizes God’s renewal of his covenant with his people in Scripture.
